James A. "Jim" Glatthaar, 87, of Union, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 12, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jim lived a full life marked by dedication to his family, faith, and work.

Cherished by his loving wife, Gelaine Glatthaar, Jim shared 32 beautiful years of a caring and fulfilling marriage. He was a devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather, a successful business owner, and a man of quiet strength and character.

His five daughters will deeply miss him: Sharon Zalac (Don), Laura Glatthaar, Lisa Glatthaar, Suzanne Glatthaar, Krista Glatthaar, and stepdaughter Kristin Lippert (Dennie Rowell). Jim was the cherished grandfather of twelve grandchildren: Kevin (Bre), Kelsey, Austin (Jess), Bradley, Dominic, Evan, Patrick, Julianna, Gabriel, Zachary, Griffin, and Grady. He is also survived by his beloved twin sister, Janice Glatthaar, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Gail Glatthaar, with whom he shared 31 wonderful years of marriage; his sister, Joan Stoner, and her husband, Vince; and his brothers, Don Glatthaar (survived by Kitty) and Tom Glatthaar (survived by Martha).

Jim was a longtime member of St. Timothy Catholic Church. He was a successful owner of a LaRosa's restaurant franchise and a Certified Public Accountant. Outside of work, he found great joy in playing golf and cards, and especially in spending time at the family's summer home on the Ohio River, a place filled with laughter, stories, and unforgettable memories.

To honor Jim's life, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from

4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Stith Funeral Home, 7500 US Hwy 42, Florence, KY 41042.
