James Gonzalez

James Gonzalez, born on July 16, 1950, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, in Jacksonville, NC, at the age of 75. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served his country honorably and with distinction.

James was known for his love of animals and his remarkable proficiency in mechanical work. His family affectionately regarded him as a "Jack of all Trades," a testament to his diverse skills and ability to tackle any challenge that came his way. Above all, James was a loving and devoted husband, whose commitment to his family was unwavering.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sheka Gonzalez, of the home; sons Kal-eeb Rouse and Michael Strayhorn, Jr., both of Hubert; daughters Shekesha Rouse of Jacksonville and Dewanna Clark of Hubert. He was also a cherished grandfather to Anina Boney, Tyler Clark, Malayah Boney, and Nova Boney-Clark.

James's legacy will be carried on through his family, who will forever remember him for his kindness, dedication, and strength. The family has requested that services be held privately.
