James W. "Buddy" Griffith, 81, husband of Sally Glasscock Griffith, died August 16, 2025 at his home in Sumter. He was a son of the late Johnny W. Griffith and the late Ora Lee Jones Griffith. A member of Bethesda Church of God, he was a retired manager of Muffler Masters and a retired minister. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Anna Loveday (Barry) of Columbia; a son, James "Jamey" Griffith, Jr. (Chanon) of Sumter; a sister, Brenda Garcia of California; 4 grandchildren, Jacob Tedder (Ashley), Rachel Tedder, Dr. Aaron Griffith (Dr. Elizabeth Griffith), Peyton Griffith; and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday at Bethesda Church of God with the Rev. Al Sims officiating. The family will receive friends 10-11 before the service at the church. Burial will be in the Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home & Crematory, 221 Broad Street, Sumter, is in charge of the arrangements (803) 775-9386.

Sally and family, Phil and I are so sorry for the passing of Buddy! He was so thoughtful to Phil and I, always ready to pray for us and ask how we are. Our memories of Buddy are precious and we know that he is in the Presence of our Lord. Know that were are holding you all up in our prayers as you go foward!
