James Milton "Jim" Griffith age 67 passed away Monday, November 10, 2025. Jim was a graduate of Walnut Ridge High School, class of 1976, where he made lifelong friends. He was very proud of the time he spent in the US Army as a Supply Specialist. Jim was blind; he had several great guide dogs from Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael, CA, he went there to bond with a dog and to give him a sense of freedom when walking in the neighborhood. These dogs were wonderful, and they had a special bond with Jim. Jim had a great sense of humor and could be a little flirtatious with the ladies. He never knew a stranger. He could make you feel completely at ease talking to you. I think it was his sense of humor that attracted me to him over 35 years ago. He had a great love of music, he listened to alternative rock, rock, jazz, and enjoyed music from the 60's to the 80's. His favorite groups were The Beatles, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Daryl Hall & Oates, and many others. Jim and I enjoyed our trips to Burr Oak State Park, to Indiana to see his mother's family. Jim's favorite pastime was to be a "beach bum", I think he would have enjoyed living on the beach. We made several trips to Myrtle Beach, SC. During the summer we had a hard time keeping Jim out of the sun. He would lay out for 2 hours not in the shade like me, but in the full sun. He was blind, but it didn't matter; he still wanted a good tan. Survived by wife of 35 years, Linda Marie McDaniels Griffith; brother Robert Kenneth Griffith; cousins, Gary Wright, Randy and Christine Wright, Cheryl Rinehart, Debbie Ulrin; many other cousins. Preceded in death by parents Laura Mae Lephart Griffith and Kenneth Albert Griffith, grandparents and Laura Mae's sisters.
