James "Jim" Marion Hagewood, 80, died at 2:50 AM December 6, 2024, at the Baxter Regional Hospital. He was born March 22, 1944, in Jack County, Missouri. On February 27, 1976, he married Bonnie Wolfe, Honeycutt of 48 years. Jim worked for Journagan Construction Co, Inc. until he retired. He was a heavy machine operator. He Lived in Republic all his life until he and Bonnie married and moved down to Longrun, MO in 2003.
Jim loved Bluegrass Music and jig dancing. He won first place dancing at a contest in West Plains, MO. He loved taking his granddaughter Heather to play bluegrass when she had a band. Heather Honeycutt and her band called "New River", went all over Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Tennessee playing her music. 'Sally Goodin" was Jim's favorite tune. Another love in his life was his horses.
Jim is survived by his wife Bonnie; one step daughter Theresa (Honeycutt) Nicholl, and husband Don, grand-children Heather (Honeycutt) Thorson, and her husband Kevin, D.J. and Rhiannon Nicholl, Kolten Thorson, special future wife Emma Wilson, Kylee Thorson and Gunnar Alexander; and three great-grand-children; one son Denny Hagewood, wife Debbie; two grand-children, Cody Hagewood, Kyle Hagewood and several grand-children. He is also survived by one brother-in-law Hervil Wolfe and wife Karen; four sisters-in-law, Betty Wolfe, Debbie Falton, Janie Wolfe, Jean Wolfe and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his Dad and Mom, Carlos and Joy Hagewood, father and mother-in-law, Albert and Lucille (Hash) Wolfe, one sister-in-law, Joyce Watson, two brothers-in-law, Jesse Wolfe & Howard Wolfe, three nephews, Bobby Sisney, Michael Sisney and Timmy Wolfe.
His special friends are Ronnie and Carol Collins, Austin & Glenda Donley, Pastor Robert Hall and family and special neighbor Justin Burnett & family.
A memorial service is planned for Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the Clinkingbeard Chapel in Gainesville, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
