James B Hamersly, 71, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024 at his home in rural Glenville. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-5PM on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home.
James was born October 18, 1952 to Winston and Marjory (Luett) Hamersly in Mason City, IA. After graduating from High School, joined the Army for four years. After leaving the army he worked as a truck driver 16 years. He went back into schooling for maintenance and began working as a maintenance man for Hormel until he retired.
He married Peggy Anderson and together they had two beautiful children, Emily and James.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Hamersly, mother Marjory Hamersly, children Emily (Jesse) Boren and James (Roxy Larson) Hamersly, grandchildren Ayden and Ethan Boren, and sister Carla (Leland) Johnson, and his beloved dog Mya.
He is preceded in death by his father Winston Hamersly.
