It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James Albert Hamilton, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this world on October 23, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born on December 28, 1936 in Sioux City, Iowa to Albert and Helen Hamilton.
James touched the lives of many with his gentle spirit and compassionate heart. He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted spouse, Barbara Hamilton, who stood by his side through all of life's chapters. Together, they created a life rich in love, support, and cherished memories.
James was a life long entrepreneur and made a great life for himself and his wife and family. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping with his children. He also had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening and traveling with his family. He was an avid reader, he read non fiction about history, biographies about historical figures.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Alan Hamilton; brother in laws, Glendon Combs, and Ed Seidman.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 68 years, Barbara Hamilton; sons, Keith James Hamilton (Elizabeth Martin) both of Rockport, Thomas Lee Hamilton (Mary Ann) of Aransas Pass; daughter in law, Darlene Hamilton of Rockport; grandchildren, Zachary Hamilton (Robin), Erik Hamilton (Jordan), Emily (Hamilton) Sullivan (Shane), Justin Hamilton (Rebecca), Katie Keen (Eric), Amanda Tusing (Steve), and Emily Horsley (Isaac); great-grandchildren, Abigale and Audrey Sullivan, Lily and Lucus Hamilton, and Khalila Moussamir; sisters, Barbara Hamilton Combs of Willow Springs, MO, and Judy Hamilton Seidman of Deerfield, ILL; and many special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
As we reflect on his life, we remember James not only for his many accomplishments but for the warmth he brought to our lives. He possessed a unique ability to make every person feel valued and cherished, leaving an indelible mark on all who crossed his path. His laughter echoed through family gatherings and his wisdom guided younger generations.
