James A. Hayes, age 93, of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away on September 25, 2025. A native of DeKalb County, Tennessee, James proudly served his country as a 20-year veteran of the United States Air Force. He was also a 50-year, 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Hermitage Presbyterian Church.
James was a man who loved his family and friends deeply. He had a lifelong passion for the game of golf and was known for his love of simplicity in life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Pauline Hayes; his son, Jim Hayes; and his sisters, Lounette Judkins, Marie Knowles, and Billie Sue Foutch.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nettie L. Hayes; sisters Joyce (John) O'Conner, Wanda (Ted) Ray, and Sarah (Ronnie) Kent; along with several cherished nieces and nephews.
James will be remembered for his quiet strength, humble nature, and the lasting impact he had on all who knew him.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday September 30, 2025, with a Masonic service at 10:45 a.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Liberty, TN at 1:30 p.m.
Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel, 1098 Weston Drive, Mt. Juliet, TN. (615) 773-2663, www.bondmemorial.com
