James Healy Obituary

Mr. Healy was born September 18, 1936, in Chicago, IL, to James Richard and Virginia (Knight) Healy. At the age of four, his family moved to Hinsdale, IL. They resided on the Healy farm with his siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and their grandfather. The Healy stable was where Jim developed his love for horses and polo.
Jim was a graduate of Hinsdale Central High School and Chicago Technical College. He served four years in the United States Air Force. He then went on to work in many different capacities for his family's business, S.A. Healy Construction Company. His loves were family, fishing and reading.
On July 28, 1962, he married his beloved wife, Peggy (Flanagan) of Peoria, IL. They were longtime residents of Hinsdale, where they raised their two children, James Richard Healy II and Marion Virginia Healy. Jim and Peggy relocated to a retirement facility in Peoria, IL, in 2016.
Jim was preceded in death by his brother Stephen and sister June (Reece). He is survived by his wife, Peggy; son, James, and his spouse Sarah (granddaughters Raven, Haley, and Sophia); and daughter, Marion (granddaughter Brianna). Jim was uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 22, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3720 N Sterling Ave, Peoria, IL 61615. Visitation will be at 9AM and Memorial Mass at 10AM. Inurnment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in West Peoria, IL.
