James (Jim) P. Hendricks died peacefully on January 6, 2023. Jim Hendricks was born and raised in New Brunswick, NJ. After graduating H.S., he served in the US Army and upon return, he graduated St. Peter's College. Jim met and was married, to the love of his life, Gail Keenan, for 53yrs. In 1964, Gail and James settled in Aberdeen, where they raised their 5 children. Jim loved his family and friends. Throughout the entire 1980s, he could be found at every Matawan High School X-Country and Track & Field event, watching his children compete and later on, his grandchildren. During his retirement years in Aberdeen, Jim would sit on his front porch drinking coffee, reading the newspaper and talking to the neighbors as they passed by with a friendly hello, and light joke. His favorite hobby was bird hunting with family and friends, especially with his sons, his brother Dick and nephew Dick.
Jim is predeceased by his parents, George and Kathryn (McCormick) Hendricks, his brothers, Fr. Jack, George, Dave, Robert (Carol), Richard, and sister Peg (Joe), his wife Gail, daughter-in-law Kelly Hendricks, and grandson infant Jack Hendricks. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Alyson Honrath (George) Brielle NJ, Maureen Newman (Dean) Virginia Beach, VA, Ed Hendricks (Rachel) Brielle NJ, JP Hendricks (Terry) Coronado, CA, John Hendricks (Jennyfer) Rexford, NY, and his 18 grandchildren (Rachael, Rebecca, Georgiana, Nora, Cassandra, Dean, Duncan, Sarah, R.J., Mary Rose, Henry, Lily, Tim, Brooke, Scott, Anna, Sean and Julia), sister Kathryn Sanservino, sister-in-law Mary Ann and numerous nieces and nephews.
