James Michael Hendrickson, known as Michael, passed away on August 6, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on September 27, 1956, Michael lived a life full of adventure, purpose, and more than a few rolls of duct tape.
Michael wore many hats in life; sometimes literally. He was a preacher with a powerful voice, a truck driver who could navigate any road, a mechanic who could bring almost anything back to life, and a drill sergeant who knew how to command a room (and a perfectly made bed). He was an avid tree trimmer, a skilled DIYer, and a man who never met a project he couldn’t tackle, often with baling wire and duct tape.
He was the founding (and only) member of the Capitol Hill Round-Up Club, a title he carried with pride and just enough mystery to keep everyone guessing about the membership rules.
He is survived by his loving parents, John and Charlotte Hendrickson; his sisters, Katherine Black and her husband Robert and Kimberly Jantz her husband Steve; his devoted wife, Kelly Hendrickson; and his four children: Mike Hendrickson and wife Misty, Mandy Love and her partner Jessy Lee, Hollie McCalip and husband Ryan, and Tanya Swinney and husband Kendall. Michael was a proud grandfather to 25 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John Daniel Hendrickson, and his beloved granddaughter, Charity Hendrickson.
Michael was a unique soul with a big heart, a quick wit, and a life story that could fill volumes. His legacy lives on in the family he loved and the many lives he touched.
