James Floyd Hill

James Floyd Hill, lovingly known as Jim and Jimmy, 72, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025, peacefully, at his home in Murphy, North Carolina, with his loving wife of 51 years, Sheree Hill, and his daughter, Sabrina Cornwell, by his side.

Jim was born November 6, 1952, in Punta Gorda, Florida, and was raised in that community. Jim worked in construction, owned his own yard maintenance business, worked for Ray's Air Conditioning, and worked many years with the City of Punta Gorda, Florida. Jim and his wife, Sheree, relocated to Murphy, North Carolina, after retiring.

Jim loved music and dancing. He and his wife, Sheree, attended as many concerts as possible in their neighboring cities. Jim was an outdoorsman, enjoying boating, fishing, camping and hunting. Jim loved all animals, especially his dogs.

Above all, Jim was a man who loved his family and enjoyed spending every moment possible with all of them. Jim had a kind heart and built many lasting friendships throughout his life, as he never met a stranger.

Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His love and spirit will be missed by his wife, Sheree Hill, of Murphy, North Carolina, children, Sabrina (Richard) Cornwell, of Blairsville, Georgia, Tammy Hill (and fiance', Mike Livingston) of Arcadia, Florida, Grandchildren, Lucas Cornwell and Ariel Cornwell, of Blairsville, North Carolina, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jim was preceded in death by his long time Punta Gorda, Florida resident parents, George Hill and Margaret Hill, Grandfather, Bampi Hill, brother, Paul Hill, and Granddaughter, Raven Lynn Golden of Arcadia, Florida.

No memorial service will be held.
