James C. Hockney, age 74, of Whitman, passed away on February 11, 2026.
James was raised in Abington and proudly served his country for six years in the National Guard. He was a devoted sports fan, especially when it came to Boston teams, and rarely missed the opportunity to follow a game. Some of his favorite times and memories were spent outdoors with his pet dog, Blue. James was also a dedicated employee of D.B. Gurney Manufacturing in Whitman, where he worked for 31 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Gail Hockney (McIntyre) of Whitman; his step children, Dennis Coughlin of Brockton and Erik Coughlin of Bridgewater; and his six step grandchildren. Son of William and Edna Hockney, he was a younger brother to William Hockney and John Hockney of Abington.
Services for James will be private in accordance with his wishes.
