James Grant Holmberg, 72, died of a heart attack at his home in Livingston, Mt on Nov 22, 2025.
Grant was born in Pueblo, Colorado in March 1953 to James and Elaine Holmberg. He had a wide variety of interests ranging from collecting guns to reading technical publications on all sorts of subjects. He shared his passion of fossil hunting with family and friends, and in the process brought a sense of wonder to a lot of children (old and young). His greatest joy, however, was taking his dog, Pickles, to the Yellowstone River for a daily swim.
Grant was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his sisters Anne and Shawndra (Butler, Pa), and his brothers John (Gainesville, Ga) and Eric (Pueblo, Co).
