Mr. James Edward Huffstickler, Jr., age 83, passed away, Saturday, August 16, 2025 in West Palm Beach, FL.

Born in Charlotte, NC, May 10, 1942, the son of the late James Huffstickler and Hilda Agatha Murphy Huffstickler Minor, grandson of the late Ida Rodgers Murphy. Jimmy was the brother of Patricia Gibson Sumner and husband Skeet of Jonesville, Darlene Brown of Union, and Harry Eugene "Gene" Minor of Lantana, FL. He is survived by three nieces, Laura Tessnear and husband Todd, Darla Brown and Jamie Lofink and husband Eric and a nephew, Scott Gibson. He was predeceased by two sisters, Nancy Mosier and Donna Minor Ledford, a niece, Tammy Gibson and a great-nephew, Teddy Mull.

He was raised in Union and was a graduate of Union High School and earned a degree in accounting and business management at the University of South Carolina in 1971. He was a member of the South Carolina National Guard from 1961-1969. He worked at Deering Milliken in Monarch from 1961-1964 and was a postal carrier in Union from 1964-1969. Mr. Huffstickler worked with Philips Construction as an accountant in Gaffney and Dallas, Texas until he relocated to Charlotte to found his own company, Sunchase American, LTD with two other business partners in 1990 and retired in 2016 and moved to Florida.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, August 22, 2025 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Scott Cobb. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Todd Tessnear, Dubbie Plemmons, Ted Burris, Eric Lofink, Kenny Jones, and Paul Murphy.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday evening the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 123 Antrim Drive, Greenville, SC 2960.

The family is at the home of his sister, Patricia G. Sumner and husband Skeet, 281 Rogerstown Road, Jonesville, SC 29353.
