James B "Jim" Humbers

James B. Humbers, age 64 of Plano, IL passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Rush Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on March 21, 1961 in Ripley, MS the son of L. V. and Fathey L. (Edwards) Humbers. Jim was united in marriage on April 24, 1982 to Bonnie Lee Goldsmith and they spent the next 29 happy years together until her passing on November 27, 2011. He was employed in the building maintenance department with Yorkville school district. Jim was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He enjoyed his weekends at Woodhaven Lakes and had a love for collecting diecast cars and knives. He also enjoyed time in his garden and working on his lawn. Jim is survived by his mother, Fathey Humbers of Corinth, MS; his children, Jennifer (Tommy) Klatt of Plano, IL and Chad (Kristen) Humbers of Yorkville, IL; his grandchildren, Carter and Camryn Humbers and Nathan and Brody Klatt; his brother, Larry Humbers of Corinth, MS; also his fiancé, Heather Copp of Plano, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Lee Humbers and his father, LV Humbers. A Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 West South Street, Plano, IL. Interment will follow in the Oak Mound Cemetery in Somonauk, IL. Friends may visit from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday, April 28, 2025 at the Funeral Home in Plano, IL.
