James Christopher Hunter, 38, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, at his home in Guyton, Georgia.
Chris was born on January 27, 1987, in Lafayette, Louisiana and lived all of his school years and adult life in Georgia. He was a graduate of Effingham County High School and an accomplished musician, singer, and songwriter.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Wilburn Hunter; maternal grandmother, Judith Gail Burkham; and maternal grandfather, Wade Holland Burkham, III.
Survivors include his mother, Shari Lynn Landry of Lincolnton, Georgia; brother, Kenneth David Peloquin of Colorado, grandparents, Garon “Sonny” and Bobbie Powell of Guyton; and many other loving family members including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Chris will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held from 2-4pm at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Saturday, February 15, 2025, with a graveside service to follow at 4:30pm at Springfield Annex Cemetery.
