James Almon Huskey, age 82, Wheatland, MO, passed away on February 28, 2023. Jim was born September 4, 1940, in Grant, AL, to Fred and Ruby Huskey. Jim was raised in Grant, AL, before moving to Kansas City, KS.
Jim worked at Bendix from January, 1959, to July, 1972. He then went to work for Associated Wholesale Grocers in July, 1972. He retired from AG in March, 2001.
Jim married Jo Ann Thompson on August 29, 1958.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Fred Huskey; his sister, Doris McRae; his sister, Ann Peck; his brother, Terry Huskey; and his brother, Roger Huskey.
Jim and Jo Ann retired to Lake Pomme de Terre in March 2001. He enjoyed metal detecting, Alabama football, bluegrass music, and his dog, Tessa. He had a strong belief in the Lord, and was baptized by his son-in-law, Scott Douglas, on September 8, 2019.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Huskey, of the home in Wheatland, Missouri; one daughter, Pam (Scott) Douglas, Carthage, Missouri; and one son, Jim Huskey, Jr., Wheatland, Missouri; two grandchildren, Sarah (Joe) Morgan, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Christopher (Megan) Douglas, Carl Junction, Missouri; and four great grandchildren, Grace Douglas, Kai Morgan, Grey Morgan, and Ivy Morgan. He is also survived by two brothers, two sisters and several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses with CMH Hospice, and the doctors and nurses at the Cancer Center at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri.
