James F. Ingargiola Jr. (68) affectionately known as Jimmy to many, of Brockton, passed away after a long battle with illness on June 18, 2025 with his loving family by his side.
James was a loving father, grandfather, brother, friend and more. He was always up for an adventure. James worked as a licensed practical nurse for over 30 years before his recent retirement. He enjoyed talking about sports and politics to anyone that would listen. He kept his loved ones on their toes with his lack of filter. All eyes would turn to him when he spoke in anticipation of what might come out of his mouth and no matter how prepared you thought you were for what he was about to say, he always found a way to still surprise you.
In his earlier years, James was a hockey official, a baseball and softball umpire and the number 1 fan for his children and grandchildren. He played Santa for many years, was active with the Arc program, and was always there when you needed him. James adored his former dog Doby of whom he considered a part of the family. His main passions in life were spending time with those he loved, especially his family and his love for singing karaoke along side his father. He will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Beloved fiancé and partner for over 36 years of Dianne Mercado of Braintree. Loving father of James F. Ingargiola III and his fiancé Andrea Ingalls of Taunton, Joshua Ingargiola and his wife Krystle of Taunton, and Christopher Ingargiola and his wife Jillian of Middleboro. Devoted grandfather "Beba" of Tyler, Riley, Khloe, Amaya, Hilynn, Gwenivere, and Mazikeen. Adored son of the late James F. Ingargiola and the late Janet A. Ingargiola (Cote). Caring brother of Jean Ingargiola of Easton, Janis Hedges of Bridgewater, Joyce Ingargiola of Bridgewater, Jeff Ingargiola of Florida, Jere Ingargiola and his wife Patricia of Bridgewater, Joseph Ingargiola and his wife Marlena of West Bridgewater, Jason Ingargiola and his wife Pam of Florida, and the late John Ingargiola, Jill Pomerleau, and Jennifer Ingargiola. Cherished friend and former husband of Cheryl Picard (Diliddo). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
