James W. Ingold, 77, of Harrisburg, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Born February 23, 1948 in McKeesport, PA, he was the son of the late James G. And Ella H. (Goon) Ingold.
James grew up in Cannonsburg and graduated from Cannon-McMillen High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh. He was a U S Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam era, where he specialized in Satellite Telemetry. After his Naval service, he was a government contractor, particularly with NASA, traveling all over the world.
He loved football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, the ocean and fishing.
Surviving are his wife: Graciela Becher of Mechanicsburg, a son, James B. Ingold (Julissa) and daughter Joscelyn Ingold, both of Carlisle. He is also survived by a sister, Linda Lane and a brother, Fritz Ingold, both of New York, as well as three grandchildren, Brandon, Mery and Julie Ingold and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Drive, Carlisle, with Rev. Donald Bender celebrating. Private burial will take place in Florida at a later date. Military honors will be provided by the Cumberland County Honor Guard.
