James "Jim" Ingram

James Jim Ingram, age 99, of Brushy Creek Road, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024 at The Greens of Spruce Pine. Born on December 1, 1925 in Avery County, he was the son of the late Stokes and Nola Wise Ingram. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded on death by his wife, Carol Cox Ingram who passed away in 2013. Also preceding him in death was his brothers; Ballad James "BJ", Bob, and Henry Ingram and his sisters, Flora Martens and Augusta Chadwick.Jim was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he served overseas in Okinawa in Japan and was discharged with the rank of Sargent. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he studied business and enjoyed playing tennis for recreation. He married and settled in Chapel Hill, subsequently moving to Spruce Pine, where he enjoyed supporting his family and farming. Left to cherish his memories are his son; Mark Ingram of Johnson City, TN, and his daughter; Kristi Ingram of Camano Island, WA, and several nieces and nephews.A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at Webb Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.Words of comfort may be e-mailed to the family by going to our website; www.webbfh.com, selecting Jim Ingrams name and then you may sign his guestbook.
