James Inman Obituary

James Carl "Jay" Inman, 83, of Talbott, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 at his home.

He was saved November 19, 1974 and he was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and assistant teacher of the Adult Sunday School Class. Jay was a veteran of the Korean War and was retired from Enka/BASF after 39 and a half years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack H. and Alpha Inman; sister, Faye Moore.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Rachel Ann Shockley Inman; son, Jackie Inman; brother, Bruce Inman; sister, Betty Southerland; neighbors, Odell and Margaret Smith; fishing buddies, John Stokley of White Pine, Charlie Jones of Newport and Doug Jackson of Weaverville, N.C.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 21 at Alder-Mayes Funeral Home and the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. with special nephew, the Rev. Bobby Helton and Pastor Rev. William Bradley officiating.

He will be laid to rest noon Tuesday, March 22 in Central Baptist Church Cemetery.
