Pastor James Conover Irving Jr., aged 55, of Altoona, Florida, peacefully passed away on June 20, 2025. He was born in Deland, Florida, to the late James Sr. and Linda Irving. In 2011, he relocated to Altoona from DeLand, where he became a beloved member of the community. James dedicated his life to serving others as the Senior Pastor at First Church of God in Eustis and previously shared his passion for learning as a high school math teacher at Lighthouse Christian Academy from 1996 to 2011. James traveled with the Life Action Ministry Group as their Music Director and a singer from 1990-1997. His commitment to education and faith inspired many throughout the years. He is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Ami M. Irving, and their cherished daughter, Annie Mae Irving, both of Altoona, FL. James also leaves behind two sisters-in-law, Amanda Irving and Angie Ross, along with several nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly: Miranda, Blake, Mason, Kate, and Tori. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Jimmy, Scott, and Billy Irving. A service honoring Pastor James will be held at the First Church of God in Eustis on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM, followed by interment at Ponceannah Cemetery in Paisley. The family invites all who knew him to join in celebrating his life and legacy. Online condolences can be shared through the Guestbook at www.hardenpauli.com.
