James Darrell (J.D.) Ingram Sr. passed away at home Saturday, July 29, 2023. He was born July 15, 1941 in Dato, Arkansas to James and Lula Mae Ingram. The Ingram family moved to Waverly from Missouri in 1953. James attended Waverly Elementary and Waverly High School until he joined the Air Force in 1958 and served until 1962. During that time he married Carolyn Ann Claar. They were married in 1960 and blessed to celebrate 63 years together. During these years they parented 3 children, Deborah Ann, Audra Lynn, and James Darrell (J.D.) Ingram, Jr. James and Carolyn resided in Arizona since their marriage until 1966 then they moved to Ohio until 1974 at which time they moved to their present home in New Johnsonville. J.D. worked at E.I. Dupont from 1974 until his retirement in 2000. Through their years of marriage they traveled, camped, and toured most of the U.S., Europe, Hawaii, and 3 summers in Alaska.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Debbie, and sister, Sue Dorshel. He was survived by his wife Carolyn, daughter Audra Lynn (Mike), son J.D. Jr., (Donna), siblings, Shelba Jean Compton (David), Harold Lee Ingram (Stephanie), 9 grandchildren and 5 great grand children.
Services will be held at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, Thursday August 3, 2023. Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. followed by a short service.

We have known Jim and Carol for many years. We visited them in TN, met their daughter, Audra and son JD along with their families. What great friends they have been. Now we will watch over Carol for him. Life wont be the same without him in it for us. We spent most of our winter days with both or one of them at a meal or at one of our homes. Will miss a special ringtone announcing his calls. Life goes on but not the same. The Chandler family, Jim, Cheri, Nikki and Ginger will miss you, Jim! RIP our dear friend, till we meet again.

Jim will truly be missed by the Bo and Donna Randall and family! Jim treated our son Shad Randall and our daughters Missy Randall Houchard and Michelle Randall and our grandkids and great grandkids like his own! We have so many good memories with Jim and Carol in Arizona and we are having a hard time that we will never see Jim again ! We loved Jim so much he was such an awesome friend more like family, just sad that God took him from all of us way to soon! RIP Tennessee Jim ! Until we meet again!
