JAMES (Jimmy) POWERS
Yesterday
Ronnie was the brother I never had. From a very early age, we enjoyed SO MANY shared experiences, and enjoyed sharing all of our life's experiencing when we weren't together. We attended school together in the 4th Grade and during our Junior year of High School. Though we were the same age, you can see in the picture I posted, he was always a bit taller than me.
We worked on Ronnie's parents“ farm; fished, ran trotlines, swam and trapped along the Stones River in Donelson, TN. near the farm, located at RFD 1, Box 49, Donelson, Tennessee.
We did all the things necessary to keep up a farm, camped in the woods on the farm, enjoying cooking some boloney over a campfire to make sandwiches on "Light Bread"; and worked on the back of a Combine one year. We also got in some trouble together when a carbide lantern turned over in the room above a storage shed, causing the shed to suffer some major damage.
We shared SO MANY laughs together; Shared SO many of our life experiences with each other. We double-dated together several times. Ronnie moved in for a while at my apartment in the '80s, and did some "Boot-Scootin'" together in the Urban Cowboy days. Ronnie was always better than me at line dancing.
Ronnie was NOT a "Jack of all Trades", but truly a Master of all Trades". He helped me with auto engines, with body repair with his wielding ability, and even installed two A/C units in my home in Mt. Juliet. AND, he was living in Waverly at the time!
A Great man, and Friend, who will be sadly missed by all who ever crossed his path, I will close by saying I am envious of the fact that he married an extraordinarily wonderful wife, Sandra.
