James A Jacobson Jr.

James A. Jacobson Jr. "Jimmy", age 66, of Plano, IL passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Accent Care Hospice in Naperville, IL. Jimmy was born at Copley Hospital in Aurora, IL on November 29, 1957 to James A. Sr. "Jake" and Jane Jacobson. Jimmy attended Plano Schools and received his GED in the Navy. Jimmy entered active duty in the United States Navy on December 30, 1975 and at that time he was assigned to the USS Cone DD866 in Charleston S.C. His occupation was a Navy Boiler Technician and was honorably discharged on March 15, 1978. Jimmy had a concrete business called Jim's Concrete Steps and general repairs. He loved traveling with the Navy and brought home many artifacts. While living in Louisiana he completed the Merchant Marine Course and graduated. His dream was to open a hot dog stand and he was well on his way. Jimmy also loved Starved Rock. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his son, Brice (Andrea) Jacobson; his granddaughter, Willow Jacobson; his mother, Jane Jacobson; sister, Rebecca (Roy) Steeves; nieces, Krissy (Brent) Daggett and Kelly (Nick) Farnsworth; nephew, Mike (Tina) Benson; great nieces, Noelle and Mady Daggett, Cassidy Farnsworth, Lexi Santabarbara, Emily Byram, and Bella Ponce de Leon; great nephews, Luke Daggett, Collin and Austin Benson; great-great nieces, Janet Daggett and Arabella Hills; great-great nephew, Braxton Malacina and Owen Daggett. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, James A. Jacobson Sr.; his brother, Tony Jacobson; his nieces, Lindsey Jacobson, Nicole Ponce de Leon, and Olivia Steeves; as well as his many aunts and uncles. We would like to thank Dr. Joo with Copley Hospital. Jimmy entered hospice on June 24, 2024 to Accent Care Hospice. We could not have done it without the staff at Accent Care of Naperville with their love and affections. Friends may visit from 12:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 W. South Street, Plano, IL. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 W. South Street, Plano, IL. Interment will follow in Little Rock Cemetery in Plano, IL.
