James "Jamie" Oliver Helton Sanders, age 29, of Toccoa, Georgia, passed away on August 2, 2025.
Jamie was born on September 5, 1995, in Toccoa, Georgia. He was the son of James Sanders and Lynn Helton Sanders.
He had a deep love for the outdoors and found his greatest peace while hunting, fishing, or camping. Jamie was especially proud to have graduated from Lanier College and Career Academy. After graduation, he hoped to pursue a career in gunsmithing—a craft he was not only passionate about but also exceptionally talented in.
Above all, Jamie will be remembered for his generous and selfless spirit. He had a kind heart and would give everything he had to help someone else, even if it meant going without himself.
Jamie is survived by his loving parents, James and Lynn Sanders; his siblings, Alexis Sanders Garrison, Larryn H.J. Sanders, and Gabriel K. Doster; his maternal grandmother, Carolyn R. Helton; his paternal grandfather, Ronald Whitmire; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family who cherished him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his birth father, David Lee Whitmire.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Hunter Funeral Home with Minister Danny Quintana officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Pickett Cemetery
