James “JC” Edward Cales II, 54 of 260 Main Street, Hinton died on November 6, 2025 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley following a long illness.
Born October 20, 1971 in Hinton, he was the son of Sandra Willey Cales of Hinton and the late James Edward, “Tinker” Cales.
JC was a graduate of Hinton High School and a former employee of Pipestem State Park. He was a 4-H Allstar who loved his dogs, Ford Mustangs and cheering on the Washington Redskins.
Other than his father he was preceded in death by a sister, Cindy Dawn Cales.
Besides his mother, he is survived by three children; Joseph Edward Nelson of Tazwell, VA, Joel Huffstutler of Watertown, WI and Melanie Cales of Hinton.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of JC will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 11, 2025 with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Visitation will be from noon until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral parlors. Cremation services have been entrusted to the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors.
In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy can be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, 454 Cranberry Dr, Beckley, WV 25801.
