Betty Jane Angell, 99, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at The Rockin Chair in Lerona surrounded by her loved ones.
Born June 6, 1926 in Hinton she was the daughter of the late William A. Arrington and Minnie E. Tyler however, she was affectionately raised by her grandparents, the late William H. and Rosa W. Arrington.
Betty retired from Western Auto in the nineties. Following her retirement, she enjoyed making quilts to pass down and telling stories about the past. Betty was a woman of great faith and would talk to anyone about God’s word. She was a faithful member of 1st Christian Church from the time she was a child until her health prevented her to attend.
Besides her parents and grandparents Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bernard B. Angell Sr. and son, William E. “Billy” Angell. She was the last surviving elder of the Arrington and Angell family.
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Beverly Jane Miller and husband David of Jumping Branch; one son, Bernard B. Angell Jr. “B.B.” and wife Sandi of Hinton; seven grandchildren, Angie Houchins of Jumping Branch, Celena Titta and husband Shawn of Hinton, Sheri Eerenberg and husband Timmy of Hinton, Brian Angell and wife Erin of Springfield, OH, William “B.J.” Angell and wife Stacie of Laurenceville, GA, Shannon Angell and companion Shannon of Moneta, VA and Jakob Angell of VA; twenty one great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
The family would like to extend their greatest gratitude to the staff of The Rockin Chair that became family during Betty’s stay, for the love and care she was given.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M Sunday, October 12, 2025 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Eddie Via officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until time of services on Sunday at the funeral parlors. There will be a private family entombment at a later date.
