James “Jim” Luther Davis, age 81 of McEwen, TN, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at NHC in Dickson, TN. He was born on October 28, 1942 in McEwen, TN to the late Dorothy Doughten Davis and William James Davis. Jim was a faithful, lifelong member at McEwen Church of Christ. He collected and restored antique tractors. Jim was a farmer, business owner and a heavy equipment mechanic. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Left to cherish Jim’s memory is his wife of 65 years, Earlene Dotson Davis of McEwen, TN; daughter, Melissa Collins (Todd) of Centerville, TN; grandchildren, Cailey Ivey (Cody) and Caleb Collins, both of Lyles, TN; sisters, Martha Durham of McEwen, TN and Joyce Gibbs (Bill) of Dickson, TN; numerous nieces and nephews; special cousin, Ramona Wingo; special uncle, John Henry Davis; and special friends John Diel and Cecil Jamison.
Along with his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Kenneth Durham.
A visitation for Jim will be held at Luff-Bowen McEwen Chapel on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and also on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 10:00 A.M. Son-in-law, Todd Collins will officiate the service. Interment will take place at Long Cemetery in McEwen, TN.
