James “Jim” George Mezger, 79, of Turney, Missouri passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 1, 2023.
Jim was born on June 21, 1944 to parents, Fred and Margaret Mezger, in Abilene, TX. They soon after moved to Ridgeway, Missouri where he grew up and graduated from Ridgeway High School in 1962. After high school, he continued his education at the University of Missouri, where he received his bachelor’s degree in agriculture in 1967. Jim returned home to his family farm and spent his career farming and trucking. He met his wife Sandy in Bethany, Missouri and they married in 1977. From this marriage they were blessed with two children. Jim’s strong work ethic set the standard for his family, and his friendliness touched many, even for a minute. He was passionate about farming, machinery, and trucks and enjoyed studying and discussing these topics with others.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents. His memory will be treasured and he will be greatly missed by his wife, Sandy; son, Doug (Marsha) Mezger of Carlisle, Iowa; daughter, Jennifer (Willis) Blinzler of Independence, Missouri; grandchildren, Elijah Mezger, Vincent Mezger, Riley Mezger and Lydia Blinzler; and countless extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Turney Methodist Church (N Ridge Street and State Highway H Turney , MO, 64493) on Thursday, July 6th, with a visitation from 1pm-2pm, followed by a memorial service at 2pm. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
