James Kenneth "Jim" Smith, 72, of Carmel, passed away on December 22, 2023. He was born on September 7, 1951 in Indianapolis to the late James H. Smith and Vera Smith. Jim worked for Carter Lee for almost 30 years. He also owned his own business called World Homes & Design. Jim was the past President of the Antique Veteran Car Club for the Shriner's. He belonged to the Builders Association of Indianapolis, Cushman Club of America and the Brookside Masonic Lodge #720. Jim enjoyed antique cars, fishing, wood working, cooking, bowling, collecting antiques and watching NASCAR and the Indianapolis 500. He loved spending time with his family. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his loving wife, Gail Smith; daughter, Amanda (Mark) Boles; sons, Erin and Derek (Morgan) Smith.
