David Sheets, 85, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025 surrounded by loving family members. He was born on November 26, 1939 in Indianapolis to the late Carl and Loyola Sheets. David was a medical device service engineer before retiring. He was a jack of all trades. David enjoyed coaching youth sports and helped run the little league baseball program. He was an avid Indianapolis 500 race fan. David loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by a half sister, Frances Wells and a half brother, Bob Sheets. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 12, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 10:00 am in St. Susanna Catholic Church (1210 E. Main Street, Plainfield, IN 46168). Entombment will be private in Calvary Cemetery. Survivors include his loving wife, Dolores Sheets; son, Bryan (Melissa) Sheets; brother, Ron (Linda) Sheets; sister, Mary Sue (David) Klinkose; grandchildren, Natalie and Mason Sheets.
