James "Jim" Sidney Willis, 78, of Rainelle, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, at Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, WV, following a short illness, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on October 5, 1946, in Hico, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Gard and Amy Willis. Jim was the beloved husband of Barbara "Bobbie" Willis for 47 years, a partnership built on love, trust, and unwavering support. Together they raised two children: Dr. Krista Adams (husband Mark) and Jeremy Willis (wife Joanna). He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Grayson, Sidney, Ryleigh, and Everette-who lovingly knew him as Poppy.

A graduate of Crichton High School, Jim went on to attend West Virginia Tech and later graduated from the Cincinnati School of Mortuary Science. He dedicated more than 49 years of his life to serving families with care and dignity as a licensed mortician and funeral director at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Rainelle and Ansted.

Jim was a member of First Baptist Church of Rainelle. His deep commitment to community and service was reflected through his involvement in many organizations: Midland Trail Lodge No. 166, the Scottish Rite, the Beni Kedem Shriners, the Greenbrier Valley Shrine Club, and the Rainelle Lions Club. In addition, Jim also served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Alaska.

Those left to cherish his memory include: his wife, Barbara "Bobbie" Willis of Rainelle; his daughter, Dr. Krista Adams (husband Mark) of Lewisburg; his son, Jeremy Willis (wife JoAnna) of Rainelle; his four grandchildren, Grayson Adams, Sidney Adams, Ryleigh Willis, and Everette Willis; his brother, Steve Willis (wife Shirley) of Daniels; his sisters, Donna O'Dell (husband Brent) of Lewisburg and Joann Kluender (husband Luke) of Bedford, IN; his sister-in-law, Kathy Fields (husband Sonny) of Palmyra, VA; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who held him close to their hearts.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Rainelle. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dr. Dana Gatewood officiating. Entombment to follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum in Clintonville, West Virginia. Pallbearers will include Jeremy Willis, Mark Adams, Jeff Fields, Luke Kluender, Brent O'Dell, Andrew Bailes, and Grayson Adams.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rainelle First Baptist Church or to the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, WV.

Jim Willis-Poppy to those who loved him most-will be remembered for his steady presence, kind heart, and lifelong service to both his family and community.
