James Paul Dickerson was born August 15th, 1977. He suffered from cerebral palsy and autonomic system failure. He attended SIRS Preschool, Sharon Elementary, Oakdale, Boonville Jr High, Boonville High and Castle high schools in Special Education programs. He was instrumental in keeping the Physical Therapy program and using American Sign Language in the Warrick County school system. He was also part of the first peer tutor classes in the Warrick schools.
Jimmy lived at home with his parents, Carroll and Linda Dickerson of Yankeetown, where he was an inspiration to all who knew him. He liked videos of wrestling, Wiggles, Teletubbies and Barney. He attended Newburgh Church of the Nazarene.
Jimmy is survived by his devoted mom, Linda; his brothers, Doug of Yankeetown, Tony (Theresa) of Evansville, Scott of Santa Claus, Richard (Shannon) of Rockport, Tim of Evansville, and Beau (Tara) of Evansville; two very special sisters-in-law, Cecelia Dickerson of Evansville and Susanne Dickerson of Germany; 13 nieces and nephews; Greg Dickerson who loved and cared for him; and his aunts and uncles Sue Leff, Linda Sellner, Lloyd Phillips, James Sellner, Deloris Dickerson, Sue Dickerson, and Frances and Thomas Burke. He was preceded in death by his dad, Carroll Dickerson; grandparents Otto and Arvilla Dickerson; Carl Sellner; Golda Bush; and aunts and uncles Louise Suits, Edward Sellner, Paul Sellner, John Sellner, Judy Phillips, Sally and Lawrence Goodall, Lois and David Brackett, and James Dickerson Sr.
A Funeral Service in Jimmy’s honor will be held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Titzer Family Funeral Homes Simpson Chapel 510 W Jennings St Newburgh IN. A visitation will also take place from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Service at 1:00 p.m. on the same day, also at Titzer Family Funeral Homes Simpson Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jimmy’s honor to Easter Seals.
