James "Jimmy" Clayton Jones

James "Jimmy" Clayton Jones, 58, born on August 13, 1966, in Greensboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his beloved wife, Michele Denise Jones, and dear friends. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity, having never met a stranger and always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Jimmy was the proud owner and operator of Jimmy Jones Quality HVAC where he dedicated himself to providing quality service and building lasting relationships with his customers and work family. His commitment to his craft and the community was evident in all that he did, as he poured his heart into his business.

A devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church, Jimmy also served as a deacon, playing an integral role in the spiritual life of his congregation. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him in his interactions with others and inspiring those around him.

Jimmy cherished moments spent at the beach, where he delighted in fishing and creating memories with friends. An avid supporter of UNC-Chapel Hill, he celebrated his team with the enthusiasm and camaraderie that characterized his vibrant personality.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Michele, his son, Daniel Jones (Taylor), his step-mother, Barbara Jones, his mother-in-law, Nina Edwards,  step-brother, Brian Wedding, and his work family at Jimmy Jones Quality HVAC, many special friends, and cousins who will forever hold him dear in their hearts.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Otis C. Jones and Barbara New Petty, and a brother, Keno Jones, and his father-in-law, David Edwards.

A visitation will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 3001 York Hwy, Gastonia, NC 28052,  Sunday. March 23, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, with Dr. Josh Glandon and Reverend Dustin Hamrick officiating.

Jimmy’s memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his warmth and generosity, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 3001 York Hwy, Gastonia, NC 28052 Please honor Jimmy by wearing Carolina Blue on Sunday.
