James “Jimmy” Fredrick Noyes Jr., 58 of Pass Christian formerly of LaPlace, Louisiana passed away on November 1, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 20, 1966 in New Orleans to the late James “Jim” Sr. & Shirley Noyes. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents.

He was born in New Orleans but moved to New Iberia. Then the family moved to LaPlace when he was around 11. He graduated from East St. John High School. After High School, Jimmy joined the United States Army and became a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne where he completed 176 jumps. He then moved back to Louisiana, and started working a variety of jobs. Jimmy was a can-do and never turned a job down, no matter what it entailed. In 2001 he met Shawnta’, and together they were married on March 16, 2005. During the BP Oil Spill, Jimmy went to work for BP to help with the cleanup. This is where he began to find a love for being on the open water. Jimmy then became a boat captain, and truly loved the profession.

Besides being a loving husband, son, father, brother, and friend, his real passion was going fast. Jimmy was heavily involved in Drag Cars and absolutely loved the sport. He competed in Nitrous competition and won several trophies over the years. Jimmy also enjoyed being in the outdoors, going hunting, fishing, and boating. His family meant the world to Jimmy, and his legacy lives on in all of us. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Shawnta’ Noyes; children, Brianna Noyes, and Mason Noyes; siblings, Steven (Lesley) Noyes, and Sandy (Reggie) Murray; aunt, Alice Noyes. Jimmy also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family.

A Celebration of Life is being planned at a Later Date.
