James J. John Sr., 97, of Brisbane, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on September 26, 1927, in Brisbane, PA, James lived a life defined by honor, service, faith, and deep devotion to his country. At just 17 years old, with his father's permission, he answered the call to duty and enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II. He later served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His unwavering patriotism and courageous service stood as a testament to his enduring love for his beloved America.
James was a proud veteran, a devoted husband, and a man of steadfast Christian faith. He lived by strong values, guided by his belief in God, and carried that quiet strength and conviction throughout his life. He remained brave and faithful to the very end.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Margaret, whose love and partnership sustained him through decades of joy and hardship alike.
James's legacy of faith, service, and love will forever be remembered by those who knew him. His life was a living example of duty, devotion, and hope-both in this life and the life to come.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Sacred Heart Parish, 260 High Street, Mount Holly. Family and friends are invited to gather beginning at 10:00 a.m., with Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hainesport immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to a National Veterans Service Organization of your choice, in honor of James's life of service and sacrifice.
