James Howard "Jim" Johnson

James "Jim" Howard Johnson, 74, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on September 16, 2025.

He was born on July 9, 1951, in Carrollton, Georgia, to the late Billy and Jewell Johnson.

Jim was a pharmacist and part of a family with longstanding roots in the profession. His great-great grandfather founded Johnson Drug Co., the first pharmacy on the Carrollton Square, and Jim continued that legacy during his career.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a devout patriot throughout his life. Jim had a lifelong love of music (rock n roll especially), playing guitar, keyboard, and harmonica, and singing in bands. He especially enjoyed performing at high school reunions. A devoted Georgia Bulldogs and overall sports fan, he also kept a special fondness for holidays, especially Halloween, known for his masks, costumes, and enthusiasm for scary movies. Away from work, he spent time playing pool, roller skating during his younger years, writing stories and songs, and reading about history.

He is survived by his brother, Ed Johnson of Carrollton; his sister, Jo Thompson of St. Simons Island; his daughter, Regan Medzhibzher of Alpharetta, Georgia; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private burial will be held in Carrollton City Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
