In Loving Memory of James N. Jourdan Jr.
Of Needham, MA (formerly of Somerville, MA)
September 7th 1942 – September 30, 2025
James N. Jourdan Jr., passed away peacefully at home on September 30th, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of the late Dolores L. Jourdan (Surette), with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.
James was the beloved father of Janice M. Alami and her husband Azzeddine of Needham, MA; Michael Jourdan and his wife Elizabeth of Peterborough, NH; Joseph Jourdan and his wife Valquiria of Salem, MA; and James N. Jourdan III and his wife Joyce of Needham, MA.
He is survived by twelve grandchildren who brought immense joy and pride to his life. To them, he was more than a grandfather-he was a mentor, a cheerleader, and a constant source of warmth, humor, and wisdom.
James dedicated over 40 years of his professional life as a Certified Public Accountant. He was known for his intelligence, professionalism, and unwavering work ethic. After moving to Needham in 1975, he continued to make a lasting impact in both his career and community.
Outside of work, James was a passionate and competitive tennis player, a skilled bowler, and a lifelong fan of Boston sports-especially the Celtics, Red Sox, and New England Patriots. He approached all of his hobbies with energy, enthusiasm, and a quick wit that brought smiles to everyone around him.
But above all, James cherished his role as a grandfather. His legacy of love, laughter, and commitment to family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. May he rest in eternal peace.
