James was born on June 20, 1927, to the late James Delbert and Minnie (Evans) Klingensmith. He retired from Kroger as a diesel mechanic for 32 years and was a member of South Jefferson Baptist Church. He was a member of Valley 511 Masonic Chapel and was a Shriner and a Ky Colonel. James also served our country as a Merchant Marine. He was also a Scout leader.
Preceded in death by his parents, loving wife of 63 years Ruby (Dunn) Klingensmith.
Survived by his daughter Paulette Hatfield (Jim), grandson James Matthew Harp, two sisters Katherine Knott and Helen Jean Morelock.
Funeral service will be Wednesday April 30, 2025, Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial to follow Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00-7:00pm and Tuesday from 2:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Jefferson Baptist Church, 6505 Pendelton Road Louisville, Ky 40272.
