James F. "Bongo" Knott

James F. "Bongo" Knott, 73, of Moscow, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Saturday May 24, 2025 at his home. James is survived by his loving wife, the former Mary Ann Conway. The couple married on April 19th, 1980.
Born September 23, 1951 in Scranton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Gallo) Knott. James was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and was employed for many years as a warehouse supervisor for Pella Windows and Doors.
James grew up in the Bulls Head section of North Scranton, and as a young man, he loved going to concerts and hanging out with friends. He was a great dancer back in his youth. He was known as Bongo to his friends, Jimmy to his wife, Dad to his children, and Poppy to his grandchildren.
In his free time, he was an avid bowler with his team at the CYC. Later in life, he and his friends golfed together in a league at Marjon Golf Course. He loved to go out to see his son, Nate, and his band play at any venue. Spending time with his grandchildren, honoring their milestones and attending their extracurricular events, brought him the most joy. He was never too busy to share his construction knowledge to help friends and family complete improvements on their homes. He was a kind, generous man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: Jesse Knott and wife Jennifer of Clarks Green, Nathan Knott of Ithaca, NY, Nicole Krape and husband Chris of Moscow, Mary Beth Frisbie of Taylor, PA, and Arthur "AJ" Grew and wife Theresa of Virginia; ten grandchildren: Casey, Myles, Mallory, Colin, Abigail, Grayson, Philip, Brendan, Jeffrey, and Chelsea; seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Margaret Gilroy and husband John of Scranton; nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Knott, and Michael Banks, and his sister, Marlene Laske.
Friends and family may call Thursday night 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
A blessing service will be conducted Friday at 11: 00 a.m. at Duffy & Snowdon Funeral Home, 401 Church Street, Moscow, PA.
