James "Jim" Lam Jr.

James "Jim" Lam Jr. of Collinsville, Illinois, was born December 31, 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri. Son of Jerry Sr. and Diana (nee Parton) Hager and entered into rest Friday, February 27, 2026 in Collinsville, Illinois at the age of 65 years.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Hager Sr., grandparents, John and Thelma Parton; sister, Donna; brothers, Michael and Kim; son, Jimi McNeill.

He is survived by his mother, Diana (nee Parton) Hagar; children, Barbara "Bobbi" (Miles McGreehan) Heim, Christy (Nick) Lercher, James Lam III, Geri Marcak and Ryan Barr; grandchildren, James Redmann, Alexis "Lexi" Redmann, Jackson Heim, Ava Lercher and Liam Lercher; siblings, Cindy, Shelly (Bruce), Dana (Adam), Shawna, Linda (Mark), Jerry, Bob (Mary), Jeff (Beth), Ron, and Jamie; along with numerous other extended family and friends.

Jim's world revolved around his children and grandchildren, they were his world. He loved them deeply and took great pride in every moment spent together. A man who appreciated hard work and horsepower alike, Jim had a special talent for working on cars, especially when it came to body work - restoring, shaping, and bringing vehicles back to life with patience and skill. When he wasn't in the garage, he was chasing adventure, riding jet skis, going mudding, or enjoying the thrill of stock car and drag racing. Jim lived life in high gear, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and memories that will forever echo in the hearts of his family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016.
