James Richard Largo

James Richard Largo, 83, passed away from complications due to pneumonia, on March 12, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital, Tucson Arizona. Born and raised in Libertyville, Illinois, James joined the army upon high school graduation. As an MP in Munich, Germany, he met and married his wife of 62 years, Paula (DeJesu). The couple had 3 children, Robin, James Jr. (deceased) and Marc (deceased) and raised them in Highland Park, Illinois. He climbed the ranks of the Highland Park Police Department, retiring as a Lieutenant in 1987.

His love of golf led the couple to reside in Tucson where they played hundreds of rounds and made many close friends. James was an avid handicapper who was a regular at Arlington Park and local OTBs. He loved spending time with his grandson, driving him to school and proudly attending his sports events.

James is survived by his spouse, Paula, daughter, Robin (Taubman), son in law Richard Taubman, daughter in law, Anabela (Alencastre) and grandson, Isaac.

A funeral mass will be held at 10am April 14 at Most Holy Trinity in Tucson. A memorial in Libertyville will take place in May at Burnett Dane Funeral Home.
