James Carl LeQuire, 78, of Cleveland, TN, passed away on March 27, 2025.
James was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, a passionate fisherman, and a devoted father who spent years coaching his son in little league football. He retired after 38 years of service at Duracell as a maintenance mechanic. He had a deep appreciation for a good meal at Cracker Barrel and, in his younger days, was an avid skater who would walk miles just to reach the skating rink. He was a dedicated Tennessee football and NASCAR fan and an active member of Mt. Olive Church of God, where he found joy in serving as a cameraman and volunteering.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Bivalee Arlie and Anna Lou LeQuire.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Virginia Lucille; daughter Patti LeQuire; son, Tony (Cher) LeQuire;his brothers, Bill LeQuire (Mary) of Dalton, GA, and Charlie LeQuire (Delitha) of Sweetwater, TN; his sister, Betty Dawson; nine grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of James on Sunday, March 30th, at the Ridge Chapel of Companion Funeral Home, located at 2412 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a celebration of his life at 3:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Gary Sears. James will be laid to rest at Mt. Olive Cemetery on Monday, March 31st, at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mt. Olive Church of God in memory of James.
