James Gary Lingner, 79, passed away on August 15, 2025, in Ozark, Missouri. He was born on May 15, 1946, in Jefferson, Iowa, he was the son of Herbert William and Iona Darnell (Buchmiller) Lingner. James was raised with 10 brothers and sisters.

James built a life marked by dedication and quiet strength. He was a minister in his early years. Later he was the proud owner of a lawn care business, where his hard work and commitment to quality service left a lasting impression on those he served. His work ethic reflected his character-steady, reliable, and deeply rooted in care for others.

On August 16, 2013, James was united in marriage to Alberta (LaFleur) Lingner. Their paths first crossed at Grace Church in Springfield, Missouri-a meeting that blossomed into a meaningful partnership. Throughout their years together, James stood faithfully by Alberta's side, especially during her recovery from cancer. His unwavering support and devotion were hallmarks of their bond; he was there for her through everything-a good husband in every sense.

James found joy in simple pleasures and shared experiences. He especially enjoyed watching and attending races at the Springfield Raceway. The thrill of the track brought him happiness and connection to a community he cherished.

He was a family man who took pride in his role as father to his two sons, Ryan and Adam. His legacy continues through his grandchildren-Andrew, Zachary, and Jessica-and great-grandchildren, Micah and Gabriella.

James was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri, where he found spiritual fellowship and community.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd., Springfield, Missouri. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. James will be laid to rest at Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield.
