Karlene Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Walnut Lawn Funeral Home - Springfield on Feb. 18, 2026.
Karlene Frances Davis, 79, of Battlefield, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, with her daughter Ashlee and sister Nikki by her side.

Karlene was born on September 6, 1946, in Spearville, KS to Derrol and JaNeva "Pat" (Kirmer) Dvorak. She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved parents and her brother, Roch Dvorak.

She is survived by her cherished children: David Davis of Jetmore, KS, Bryan Davis of Battlefield, Jeremy Davis and his wife Barbara of Republic, Brandon Davis of Nixa, and Ashlee Liska and her husband Jason of Republic. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Adley and his wife Carley, Dawson, Madison, Abigail, Julia, Nathaniel, and Elijah, and a joyful great-grandmother to Bexley and Frankie.

Karlene will be dearly missed by her brother Richard Dvorak and his wife Bonnie; her sisters Kathlene Loyd and her husband Tom, Lydia Watts and her husband Ron, JaNelda Fields and her husband Steve, and Nikki Meyer and her husband Rich; along with many nieces, nephews, and countless treasured friends.

Karlene was an example to all of us of how true optimism, deep faith, and a little bit of stubbornness can carry you through even the hardest seasons of life. A devoted member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Springfield, her faith was the foundation of her strength and compassion.

She truly lived life to the fullest. Karlene served on the board of the Republic Senior Center and embraced simple joys - country western dancing, playing cards and bingo, cheering on her grandchildren at their activities, and long chats with friends and family. She always had a project in motion, whether redecorating her home, refurbishing antique furniture, or sewing something special. She loved working with her hands and creating beauty wherever she could.

Above all, Karlene's greatest pride was her family. Her legacy of resilience, love, laughter, and unwavering faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hodgeman County Kansas at a later date.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Republic Senior Friendship Center at 210 E. Hines, Republic, MO 65738.
