James Allen Longenecker

James Allen Longenecker, 76, of Brownwood, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Funeral will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 14, 2022 at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church, 1815 Coggin Ave, Brownwood, TX 76801 with interment to follow at 2:30 PM in the Pioneer Cemetery, 1400 4th street, Graham, Texas 76450.
James or "Jim" was born in Wichita Falls, Texas to Aaron Guy and Belva Louise (Hall) Longenecker on August 16, 1946. He graduated from Abilene High School and attended Cisco College. James met his wife, Kay when they were both Juniors at Graham High School. James joined the US Navy and married Kay White on October 1, 1966 at South Bend Baptist Church and they began a family that blessed them with 2 children and 3 grandchildren. He finished his time in the US Navy and James went to work as an Electronic Technician for several North Texas companies. Later in life, he went to work for the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 2006. James was a devout Christian, lover of the Lord, his family, church and friends. He was an avid fisherman and would always love to start a do-it-yourself home improvement project around the house. James was a loving, kind, patient, faithful, honest, honorable, high integrity, helpful, disciplined man and will be terribly missed.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Kay Longenecker of Brownwood; sons, Darren Longenecker of Grapevine and Mark Longenecker of The Colony; grandchildren, Sydney of The Colony, Ryan of Grapevine and Sophie of Grapevine; sisters-in-law, Sadie Barnhart of Broken Arrow, OK, Sue Ann Biggs of Abilene, Gwen White of Graham, Eileen Longenecker of Wilmington, DE and Sue Longenecker of Arizona; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Belva Louise Longenecker and father, Aaron Guy Longenecker; brothers, Aaron Longenecker, Don Longenecker, Bobby Longenecker; sisters, Winnie Kay Longenecker and Billie Lou Chapman.
