James passed away suddenly, but peacefully at the Estates of Greeley in Stillwater, Minnesota.
James was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam war. He lived his life with pride and full of love for his kids and grandkids. To him, there were no more perfect people in the world; there was nothing he wouldn't do or give to make their lives easier or put smiles on their faces. His love was truly unconditional. Anyone he met was told about his family and how very proud he was of each one of us. He was a good listener, solid advisor and teacher of life's lessons. He was an even better storyteller whose belly laugh would fill the room and make everyone smile. He will be deeply missed and will live on in our hearts and memories.
Preceded in death by: Dorthea and John Madsen (parents), Karen and Mickey Baumer (sister and brother-in-law), Aaron Madsen (son) and Stacey Madsen (granddaughter).
Survived by: Jennifer Albrecht (Jeb Nybeck), Adrian (Rachel) Madsen, Juliene (Jimmy Plautz) Madsen, Jack (Ariana) Albrecht, Eva (Max) Feld, Andrew Albrecht, William Madsen, Caroline Madsen Fran Fier and Dean Albrecht.
At the request of James, there will be no formal funeral service. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Tuesday, Nov. 12th, 2024, at Rudy's Red Eye Grill from 5pm to 7pm. A private service will be held Nov. 13th, 2024, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
