James Paul Manak, Sr., 87, of Glen Ellyn. Beloved husband of Lucille G. Manak. Father of Stephen Manak, Douglas Manak, James Manak, Jr., Glen Manak, Rebecca Keeter, and Deborah Bozinovska. Grandfather of Brendan Keeter, Alexis Keeter, Sydney Keeter, Clarissa Manak, Hana Bozinovska, Petar Bozinovski, and Helen Manak. Son of the late August and Erma Manak. Brother of Joseph Manak, Margaret Wagner, and Norbert Manak.
James achieved his Law degree from SUNY at Buffalo, NY in 1964 and Master of Law from Northwestern University, School of Law in 1969. He worked as a Project Director for National District Attorneys Association, taught law at SUNY at Buffalo, IIT-Chicago Kent Law School, John Marshall Law School and Northwestern University Traffic Institute. Author and publisher of eight periodicals and books, including Law Enforcement Legal Publications (LELP), which he published with his wife Lucille for 18 years.
He enjoyed volunteering for the Glen Ellyn Historical Preservation Commission and Historical Society. Member and officer of Packard, Cadillac, Hupmobile, and Volkswagen car clubs in Chicagoland. Baptized June 28, 1974 in Milwaukee, WI as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He and Lucille raised their 6 children while attending the Glen Ellyn Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He loved to learn and traveled around the world with Lucille and his children.

Memorial Visitation on Friday, September 8th from 4 pm to 8 pm at Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn, IL. Funeral Service on Saturday, September 9th at 4 pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 22W410 Great Western Ave, Glen Ellyn, IL. For more information please call (630) 469-0032.
